  • How do I prepare for a DNA test?
    No special preparation is needed. However, we ask that you avoid eating or drinking for 30 minutes before the test.
  • Do I need to provide any documentation before the test?
    Yes, valid identification (like a state ID, driver's license, or passport) must be uploaded or submitted at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. You will also need to present this ID on the day of your test. If the necessary identification is not provided, DNA Testing L.A. will have to reschedule your appointment for the next available date. Additionally, some tests, particularly those for legal purposes, may require extra documentation, such as proof of relationship.
  • Can DNA testing be used for legal matters?
    Yes, our DNA tests can provide legally admissible results for various legal situations, such as custody or immigration.
  • Is my personal information kept confidential?
    Yes, we take your privacy and confidentiality seriously. All personal information and test results are stored securely and protected.
  • How long does it take to get results?
    Results are typically available within 1-2 business days, depending on the type of test.
  • What if one of the individuals cannot attend the appointment?
    We request that all parties be present at the time of testing. However, if one party cannot be tested on the same day or at the same time, an additional testing fee will be incurred.
  • How do I receive my test results?
    Results can be sent via email, mail, or through our online portal, depending on your preference.
  • What happens if I am late for my appointment?
    Late arrivals may require rescheduling, and a late fee may also be applied. We encourage you to arrive on time for your appointment.
  • Can I reschedule my appointment?
    Yes, you may reschedule once. Additional rescheduling may result in forfeiting your deposit.
  • Are your services refundable?
    All services are non-refundable, including deposits.
  • What should I do if I have more questions?

  • Initial Agreement:
    Ensure that all parties involved are on board with the DNA test before proceeding.
  • Discuss Location and Time:
    Agree on a convenient location and time for the testing. This should be discussed and confirmed by all parties prior to scheduling the appointment.
  • Schedule the Appointment:
    Contact us to schedule your DNA testing appointment. A non-refundable deposit will be required to secure your booking.
  • Provide Identification:
    All parties must upload valid identification (such as a state ID, driver's license, or passport) at least 24 hours before the appointment. It is recommended to send the identification at the same time as the remaining balance.
  • Payment of Remaining Balance:
    The remaining balance for the test is due 24 hours prior to the appointment. Please note that services are non-refundable, and cash is not an acceptable form of payment. Ensure this is completed along with the submission of identification.
  • Confirmation:
    Once the deposit, identification, time, date, location, and agreement from all parties have been received, your appointment will be confirmed.
  • Testing Day:
    On the day of the appointment, a trained collector will meet you at the agreed location to collect samples using a simple and painless cheek swab.
  • Photo Requirement:
    A photo of all testing parties is required at the time of the appointment. Please ensure that face coverings and hats are removed during this step for clear identification.
  • Collection Procedure:
    The entire sample collection process typically takes just a few minutes. You will receive clear instructions on what to expect next.
  • Sample Analysis:
    After collection, your samples will be securely sent to our accredited laboratory for analysis.
  • Results:
    You can expect to receive your results within 3-5 business days after the samples have been collected.
  • Punctuality:
    Arrive on time for your appointment to ensure a smooth process. Late arrivals may require rescheduling.
  • Respectful Behavior:
    Treat the testing staff and fellow participants with respect and courtesy at all times. It is essential to maintain a calm and cooperative demeanor throughout the testing process. Failure to do so may result in forfeiting payment and could affect your ability to do business with us in the future.
